Happy Halloween

I was SO excited for Lucca's first Halloween! I spent hours online looking for the perfect pumpkin costume and had visions of strolling down the street with our darling baby boy and everyone stopping to say "what a cute pumpkin."

Well, that's what I get for having such high expectation. One day I'll learn. First, it was pouring out. Second, Lucca was not on his best behavior. I still really wanted to at least put him in his costume so we packed our bags and went to visit the ladies at my old job. Ten minutes in I told Shan I wanted to turn around because traffic was SO bad and Lucca hadn't stopped screaming. But, he said we needed to get out of the house even if it was to sit in traffic with a screaming baby.

The rest of the story speaks for itself! Here are the pictures of Lucca's first Halloween.

His favorite part was putting the costume on. He was SO excited!

The calm after the storm

I made us all wear orange -- cheesy I know

"Why mom???"

I hate this costume...

Even though it was very anticlimactic, I thought he looked adorable. I wish we were with the fam though, maybe we'll have to make a trip out to SLC next year so Ella, Tate and Gracie can show Lucca the trick-or-treat ropes.

PS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA!!!

Thanks for the shout-out!! I think Lucca looks ADORABLE, I don't know why he couldn't just realize that and work it :) I also think it's so cute how you tried to make it the best "perfect" halloween... with a newborn. It's good to make the effort I think, even if it doesn't turn out. You are turning into quite the cheese ball- matching orange shirts?! Okay mom & dad!!
ps- I CANNOT wait to see Lucca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, he is soooo adorable!! And I think the screaming pictures are hilarious! Ok, maybe more so because I was not there to endure it, but still..a memorable first Halloween! I can't wait to get my hands on Lucca!!

Oh yeah baby, wanting so bad to have cute costume shots with such a super cute baby. It was a nice try and I'm sure next year he'll do better. Sometimes those costumes just make them hot, bothered, and itchy. Is there an elf hat in Lucca's near future? Are we going to get him on skis this February? you can never start to early.
