Lucca's new favorite word is Ooopsie. Tia Lulu started it and every time he laughs. Now we all do it, he was even crying in the car today and I said Oopsie and the cry went from cry to laugh to cry. I even played around with it to see if it was the word or the voice tone so I said oopsie about 20 times in about 20 different ways and he laughed every time.
Lucca loves to eat. On Sat. he ate a little bit of everything -- egg, crab, mango, tofu, pickle, yogurt, potato, french fries, sweet roll and strawberry. His current favorites are curry, mango, banana and yogurt. I don't know where it all goes.
Shan came downstairs the other night with this new story. Lucca had woken up crying so Shan went in his room to give him his binkie. While he was fumbling around trying to find Lucca's mouth in the dark with the binkie, Lucca reached out, grabbed his arm and shoved his binkie in himself. I can just hear him "imbeciles, why do I bother asking for their help."
Lucca and I share a morning snuggle while I try to catch a few more minutes of sleep. I surround him with pillows on the bed and give him some toys and usually it will buy me about 20 minutes. I know Lucca is done when he twists around, reaches out with both arms, grabs my face and kisses me good morning. Makes my day and melts my heart every time.
Oh, the chills. Lucca started getting the chills at two opportune times. When he tries something to eat he usually shivers at least once. He also shivers after each time he poops. I have been trying to get him on video because it's so funny. I feel really guilty when I stare and laugh hysterically at him when I hear him grunting and turn to find his face winced, wrinkled and bright red. Then it's all released, a big smile fills his face and he shivers. Just simple satisfaction.
At the doctors we were playing in the mirror and he went to reach for his binkie in the mirror. It was so pure to watch him try to figure out where his binkie was and how it was two places at once. I also started feeding him and he likes to grab the spoon. He kept swatting at the air when he trying to grab at the spoon in the mirror.
He really is just so much fun these days. Everyday is filled with new treasures and new memories. I know this is just the beginning so I'm trying to savor this time.
We love you Lucca!!
